Dr. Pauline Nugent wins Governor’s Award
Dr. Pauline Nugent, professor of modern and classical languages at Missouri State University, was named a recipient of the 2009 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Nugent, who joined Missouri State and the Antiquities Faculty in 1992, has previously received the 1997 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Dr. Joseph Hughes delivers “Last Lecture”
Dr. Joseph Hughes, professor of Classical Languages and Antiquities Program Coordinator, presented a talk, “Ars Longa Vita Brevis,” on September 16 as part of the Student Activity Council’s Last Lecture Series. The talk covered the literary theme of katabasis, or descent to the underworld and its role in his private life.
