This January for First Friday MSU art history alumnus Drew Pilkenton (2014) presented his research on “Developments in Hazar Baf: Architectural Innovation in the Persian Middle Ages.” Now an MA Art History graduate student at the University of Kansas, Drew presented this lecture on intricate Islamic brickwork at the Park Central Branch Library in Springfield as part of a monthly series of art history talks.
The next talk, scheduled for February, will feature Drury University art history and architecture student Kevin Rogan’s lecture on “Three Spaces: Critical Utopianism for Contemporary Audiences.” These talks are free and open to the public.
