Think back on all the times you’ve heard “I’m bored, there’s nothing to do…” I’m sure, like me, more than you can ever count. It doesn’t matter the age of your children, this is a common anthem. Well, if they say this about Missouri State, share the following info about upcoming events in the Spring semester. I promise, they won’t be bored IF they make the effort to become involved.
The following are some events in January during Winter Week 2016 plus other campus traditions (shared by Victoria Culver Rice- Assistant Director, Student Engagement):

– Jan 11: Free Hot Cocoa (PSU North Lounge)
– Jan 12: FREE Jesse McCartney Concert (PSU Theater, 7pm)
– Jan 13: Straight Outta Compton Film Screening (PSU Theater, 9pm)
– Jan 14: Build Your Own Tee (PSU Food Court, 9-11:59pm)
– Jan 15: Rock’n’Bowl (Level 1 Game Center, 7-10pm)
Traditions your student can mark off their Missouri State bucket list (find out more about the traditions in the Traditions Council Book):
– Rub the bear in JQH Arena (page 36)
– Get a “Not A State” shirt (Our men’s basketball team plays Wichita on Jan 13th – great time to get a shirt and cheer on the Bears) (page 38)
– Act out William Tell Overture (page 39)
– Take a game day road trip (Trips scheduled to Wichita State Jan. 30 for a women’s basketball game and Feb 18 for a men’s basketball game) (page 40)
– Volunteer for a day of service – MLK Day of Service is right around the corner (page 52)
– Go on an immersion trip – lots of options on Spring Break (page 55)
– Attend May Day (May 4, 2016) (page 61)
– Greek Week (page 62)
– Attend Public Affairs Conference – April 5-8, 2016 (page 73 – you are welcome to attend also)

– Go to a Missouri State baseball game (Join your student for Spring Family Day at Hammons Field on April 23, 2016)
