Missouri State University’s mission in public affairs drives us, and we care about our local community.
Did you know…
- 16% of the population in southwest Missouri are food insecure, meaning they don’t know where their next meal is coming from.
- $10,000 is the average annual household income of families served by Ozarks Food Harvest.
- 67% of the households in the Ozarks must choose between paying for food or utilities.
This summer, we are partnering with local food banks to help curb the hunger of those in need. If you’d like to contribute, bring a non-perishable food item to donate during SOAR. Great options include tuna, salmon, and other canned meat; beans, soups, and stews; peanut butter; boxed meals, rice, and pasta; low-salt canned vegetables; canned fruit packed in juice, and low-sugar cereals. Please avoid donating items packed in glass due to safety risks.
Together, let’s help the Springfield community!
