Have you thought about what students will be doing once winter break is here? Most of them will be cozied up in warm homes beside their families. Some will be studying abroad. Others may go on vacation to a sunny island far away from Springfield. However, there may be a few students who do not have a home to return to this winter break, especially students who are LGBTQIA+. If you would like to read more about queer youth and homelessness, below are some resources and literature. I strongly urge you to recognize signs of an unsupportive family/home life and reach out to students who may not have anywhere to go between December 16 and January 17.
