SAACS Event: Adopt-a-Street & Sweet Treats

The student affiliates of the American Chemical Society will be holding its second Adopt-a-Street clean-up of the semester this Saturday, November 7th.

We will follow the event with a trip to get some sweet treats! If you are available, please meet on the stairs to the west entrance of Temple (the side facing Bear Park South and John Q. Hammons Parkway) at 10:00 am. We will carpool to our location.

If you have work gloves you could bring, go ahead and bring those as well! Hope to see you there!

The Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society will present “Demos in the Dark” on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.!

Update: Due to threats of inclement weather, we will meet inside Temple Hall in 0002. This is inside the north entrance of Temple Hall, near the water fountains and Plaster Sports Complex. There will be food and drinks for sale, along with some fun and very COLORFUL demos for sundown.

Demonstrations include flaming salts, luminol and elephant toothpaste. Bring your family and friends and we’ll see you at Demos in the Dark!

On Saturday, September 19th, meet at the west entrance of Temple Hall at 10:00 a.m. to carpool to the location.

All Missouri State University SAACS members or current Chemistry students interested in membership are invited to attend.

Being prepared for surgery, medical staff are required to list the risks, which may sound overwhelming and frightening to patients – including infection. Dr. Nikolay Gerasimchuk is developing a set of compounds that could be used to properly set medical indwelling devices and prevent infections at those sites

Gerasimchuk’s incredible research highlighted in Mind’s Eye

The incredible work in his lab will be featured in the 2015 issue of Mind’s Eye, Missouri State University’s research publication. His story is also featured on Missouri State’s research website and is currently the feature on Missouri State’s homepage.

He describes how his work could make a huge impact in the medical community.
