Leland Gannaway, class of 63, (third from left) and Cindy Wilson, class of 79, (center) were honored with the Bears of Excellence award. The Bears of Excellence Award was created in 2016 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Missouri State University Alumni Association’s Award program. Recipients are selected at the discretion of the awards selection committee, recognizing uniquely accomplished alumni from diverse academic, professional and personal backgrounds. Up to six honorees may be awarded each year.
Steven F. McDonald, class of 66, (center) was honored with the Award for Excellence in Public Affairs. This award recognizes graduates who have exceptional achievements in their professional endeavors, while demonstrating outstanding commitment to the ideals of public service.
Ron Richard, class of 72, (right) was honored as Outstanding Alumni. The recipients are recognized for extraordinary achievement in their personal and professional endeavors. Among the qualities considered are notable success in a professional or business, loyalty to the university and outstanding contributions to society.
Lincoln Hough, class of 05, (not pictured) received the Outstanding Young Alumni. This award recognizes graduates 35 years of age or younger who have demonstrated extraordinary achievement in their personal and professional endeavors, and have brought honor to Missouri State University.
