Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is a data collection program for higher education managed by the National Center for Education Statistics. The IPEDS surveys are mandatory for all institutions that participate in Title IV federal financial assistance programs. IPEDS surveys exclude students who are auditing courses, students exclusively enrolled in the English Language Institute (ELI), Study Away programs, and students attending MSU’s Dalian China campus. To assist in the collection of these data, MIS has added a function to identify students reported to IPEDS. The Office of Institutional Research is currently working toward implementing these changes in a variety of reporting functions.
