1st Springfield TCM Alumni Mixer a Success

35 attended the 1st TCM Alumni Mixer held at Rivals Casual Grill on Nov. 19. Thank you to all who atttended. The second mixer will be held Dec. 9 at the Gilloiz at 5:30. Watch for details.

Builders Associaton Scholarship Applications Due Dec. 15th

The Annual KC Builders Association Scholarhip Deadline is December 15th. These are $3,000 scholarships, Missouri State typically recieves at least 2 of these. Applications are available in Glass 200 or online at http://www.buildersassociation.org/Services/Education/education.html

Robotics Team Wins National Competition

SPRINGFIELD — Students from Missouri State University won 1^st place in Design and Innovation at the annual Robotics Manipulator competition in Louisville, Kentucky. The national competition included fourteen schools from around the country such as Iowa State and Cal Poly. The competition was held Nov. 12^th and 13^th and hosted by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE).

“The ATMAE competition provides students with a great opportunity to apply their technical and managerial skills and showcase them in a national competition. The Missouri State students put together an excellent design,” said Technology and Construction Management Department faculty and team advisor Martin Jones.

In addition to the 1^st place, the robotics team was also recognized with a 2^nd place award in controls methodology. Competition team leaders included students Chad Pepemiller and Christopher Hughey.

ASC Teams Excel at Regional Competition

ASC Residential, Design-Build, and Heavy Highway teams took third place in the Annual ASC Region IV Competition. This places Missouri State among the top three schools in the region! No other school in Missouri or Kansas placed in the competition.

Homecoming Breakfast and Tailgate-Alumni, Student, and Friends are invited to the First Annual TCM Homecoming Breakfast and Tailgate this Saturday. The party starts at 8am in Bearfest Village and continues until game time!

Mock Interviews- Mock interview day is Nov. 9^th. Take advantage of this opportunity to interview with industrial and construction firms in a no risk setting. In this economy take advantage of these opportunities. See the Career Center website for more information.

Builders Association Scholarship- The KC Builders Association Scholarship applications are now available in the department office or online at the Builders Association website.

NAHB Scholarship- The National Housing Endowment Scholarship deadline is Oct. 30^th! Applications are available in the department office.
