Nominations are now being accepted for the two Provost’s Academic Advising Council Awards for 2015. The due date for both nomination packets is Friday, February 13 at 5 p.m.
Our newest award is the “Excellence in Advising: Graduate Student Contribution” award, http://www.missouristate.edu/advising/148732.htm, which recognizes a current graduate student ‘s demonstration of outstanding academic advisement or significant contribution to an academic advising-related project.
The other award is the “Excellence in Advising Support” award, http://www.missouristate.edu/advising/148732.htm, which recognizes signification contributions to academic advising at Missouri State University by an individual, an office, or a team. The nominated individual(s) must not have any assigned advisees.

You are invited to participate in the Spring 2015 commencement ceremony to be held on Friday, May 15 at 10:00 AM, 1:30 PM & 5:00 PM in JQH Arena. In order to facilitate your participation, the University will assume the cost of renting your gown. Our contract allows each participant to keep his or her cap and hood for use in future commencement ceremonies. If you plan to participate in the Spring 2015 commencement, please complete and return the faculty regalia order form. However, if you own your own regalia please reply to me and indicate which ceremony you will be participating in so I may have an accurate headcount. You can send your completed form by campus mail, email (reply to Amy Anderson Cooper in Event & Meeting Services) or it can be faxed to 836-6765. You will receive a confirmation via email from Amy Anderson Cooper.
The deadline for ordering faculty regalia is March 6, 2015. We cannot process late requests. If you have questions, please call Amy Anderson Cooper (Ext. 6-5653). Regalia will be available at the MSU Bookstore beginning Monday, May 11 through Thursday, May 14.

Computational Science
This certificate provides students with a background in the application of computer code to the solution of problems of interest to those in science, mathematics, or engineering. Physical processes that are intractable to an analytical approach, can be studied and simulated using the algorithms and techniques developed in this certificate program.
