Master Advisors –
Also, if you are interested in signing up for a master advisor refresher workshop on February 24 from 2 to 4:30 p.m., you may do so by going to http://www.missouristate.edu/advising/42540.htm. This refresher workshop will cover topics including: the new general studies degree, assisting students in preparing for graduate school, academic integrity issues, individualized majors, and delivering bad news when students do not meet admission criteria.
Dear Faculty,
The deadline for your students to submit their work to LOGOS: A Journal of Undergraduate Research is drawing near; all submissions to be included in Volume 8 must be submitted to logos@missouristate.edu by March 1. Getting published in an EBSCOhost searchable journal such as this one is really a wonderful opportunity for students and I’m hoping you can assist me in reminding them of this. We take all kinds of original work, be it creative or scientific, as long as it was created for a class at MSU. Work does not have to have been completed in the current semester to be eligible for publication. If you or your students have any questions, I will be happy to answer them via email (logos@missouristate.edu) or phone (417-836-6792 ext. 65424).

The Vice President of Research and Economic Development and International Programs has provided funding for exploratory travel to be awarded in the spring of 2015. The aim of the Exploratory Travel Fund is to increase the number of faculty-led short-term Study Away programs towards an end of increasing students’ cultural competence. Additionally, funded travel will help to ensure faculty preparedness in safety measures for future short-term Study Away programs. The application deadline is March 19, 2015. Please review the attached request for proposals, Exploratory_Travel_Fund_SP2015. Examples of past funded proposals are found here, http://http://international.missouristate.edu/studyaway/175691.htm.
