Just a couple of announcements as we all prepare for a break!
The search for the new associate deans is now complete and I am happy to announce that Jorge Rebaza and Erich Steinle have accepted the positions noted below and will begin their duties on June 1, 2015.
I want to take a moment and publically thank Xingping Sun for his four years as associate dean. He helped to pave the way to where we are today with more clearly defined duties. Xingping was willing to try any project that he was given. He moved us forward on the Professional Science Masters option within the MNAS and helped the first two students to graduate from the program! He was there to help with many, many recruitment activities! Most importantly he was there for the students who needed help and guidance from the dean’s office. Thank you – Xingping!!!! I wish you all the best as you continue with your strong research program in the mathematics department.
