The modern and classical languages department is sponsoring a Chinese New Year Celebration on the first floor of Siceluff Hall from Feb. 2-17 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Mondays thru Fridays.
Friday, Feb. 11 there will be a Chinese calligraphy demonstration made by Yang Li, a student from china, at 9:20 a.m. At 11 a.m., Jin Liu, also a student from China, will perform on the violin.
The most important holiday in China is the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival), which is a time for family reunion. This year the Chinese New Year’s Day falls on Feb. 3 marking the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit. The celebration includes an exhibition of the Spring Festival celebration-themed art work either created or collected by Missouri State students and faculty. Please come and join us to celebrate this wonderful Chinese New Year holiday. Snacks and drinks are also provided.
