Dr. Deanne Camp, RFT, Donates Books to Goodman Elementary
Dr. Deanne Camp, RFT, pictured above with fifteen boxes containing 973 children’s books she recently donated to the Goodman Elementary School, Goodman, MO. Pictured with her is Mr. “Lucky” Ulmer, custodian at Goodman Elementary. Lucky was the only person inside Goodman Elementary the night the tornado devastated the school and much of the town. He said he feels his name fits him perfectly. Over the past five years, Dr. Camp has given away almost 12,000 children’s books from her personal collection. She has given books to her students; to Forsyth, MO, library; to the Fort Leonard Wood Little Library project, from a grant written by a former graduate student; and to many children she has tutored over the years.
College of Education & IUPUI Co-hosted Reception at AERA – April 29th
The MSU College of Education & IUPUI co-hosted a reception at AERA last Saturday night. As our presence at AERA continues to increase, we may want to consider extending efforts such as this. The event was used, in part, to recruit applicants to faculty positions currently open in COE. Our Budget Committee will continue to make strategic recommendations during the upcoming academic and fiscal years in support of our long-range plan. Our current plan is in support of the University’s goals to increase student enrollments and graduation rates while focusing on diversity and inclusion. The Faculty Advisory Council and Leadership Council continue to make tenure-track faculty hiring and program / student supports top priorities for COE.
“This event not only contributed to the positive reputation of Missouri State University and the College of Education, it also exposed faculty and graduate students from around the country to our currently advertised positions.”
