Testing Accommodations
If you are approved for out-of-class testing and plan to take your exams in the Disability Services office, please remember to schedule those exams at least three (3) business days in advance (not including the exam day) so that we can provide your accommodations in the best possible way. Please remember to discuss exam arrangements with your instructor prior to scheduling with our office.
Workforce Recruitment Program
The WRP will be back at Missouri State University on February 9, 2009 from 9:00-4:00. If you want to interview, please contact Disability Services at 417.836.4192 to schedule your appointment.
The WRP is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal sector employers nationwide with highly motivated postsecondary students and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to prove their abilities in the workplace through summer or permanent jobs. Co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and the U.S. Department of Defense with the participation of many other federal agencies, the WRP has provided employment opportunities for nearly 4,500 students since 1995. Do you feel nervous a lot of them time? Does your nervousness interfere with classes, having fun with friends, dating?
Would you like help to feel less nervous and cope with the anxiety you feel? If so, we have a group for you!!
Purpose: To help students lessen their anxiety by providing support and education about coping skills and ways to manage anxiety symptoms.
When: Wednesdays 4:00-5:00 pm starting February 4, 2009
Where: Counseling and Testing Center Group Room
Fee: None
Who: Students currently enrolled at Missouri State
How: Come by our office between 8:00 and 4:00 Monday thru Friday and talk with a counselor about whether this group could be of help to you. No appointment needed for this first visit

Incight Scholarship
The application process is now open for the 2009/2010 Incight Scholarship.
The Incight Scholarship is for students with disabilities who are entering or who are already enrolled in post-secondary education.
Incight’s Scholarships are worth $750 each. Our Incight Scholarship Program is a long-term commitment to students entering and attending college which can be renewed annually for up to four years. This scholarship is available nationally for any trade school, college or university within the United States.
The scholarship eligibility requirements are as follows:
1. Documented disability: this can be physical, learning, cognitive, etc.
2. Full time attendance at trade school, college or university
3. Completion of entire scholarship application
4. Letter of reference submitted with application (letter can be written by anyone the applicant chooses and can be of any length)

Wheelchair Basketball

2009 US/COSTA RICA: CROSS-CULTURAL PERSPECTIVES ON DISABILITY RIGHTS LEADERSHIP EXCHANGE PROGRAM: Twelve Americans with disabilities ages 18 – 24 will be exploring Costa Rica and participating in an exciting cross-cultural and cross-disability exchange program from June 26 – July 10, 2009.
