“American music icon Bob Dylan has written more than 600 songs and his multiple hits have certainly helped shape American folk music along with traditional and Christian rock, country, R&B and blues. Dylan has released 46 albums over his incredible career and his music has remained part of the American musical landscape since the 1960’s.
Dylan’s newest studio album, Tempest, was released in September 2012, which coincided with the 50th Anniversary of Dylan’s debut album which was released by Columbia Records in 1962.
During his 50 year career, Dylan has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and won the Pulitzer Prize, the National Medal of Arts and France’s Commandeurdes Arts et des Lettres, not to mention 10 Grammy Awards and an Oscar.”
God and Goddess Pageant

“Event Details:
Each chapter competing in Greek Week has the opportunity to submit one person from their chapter to compete in a sub-competition known as God & Goddess. This candidate will compete in several competitions throughout the week in hopes of gaining this title. At the end of the week, a God & Goddess will be crowned. Although God & Goddess competitions are at the same times, Goddesses will only be in competition against other Goddesses, and Gods will only compete against other Gods.”
“Admission: Open to current students, future students, family of students, alumni, faculty, staff, community, visitors.
Admission Cost:$10 per person. Tickets can be purchased throughout Greek Week at the God and Goddess food drive table outside of Its a Greek Thing! on the 2nd floor of the Plaster Student Union”

Color Me Rad 5K for OPT “K is for Kids”

“Event Details:
The Color Me Rad 5K is coming to Springfield to help Ozarks Public Television’s “K is for Kids” initiative. Runners start off wearing white and get engulfed with new explosions of color at each section of the run. A portion of the proceeds from the race will benefit OPT’s “K is for Kids” initiative, which raises the money needed to acquire and broadcast programs like Sesame Street, Curious George, Super Why! and more. More than 50,000 children watch these educational programs each week and OPT spends over $500,000 each year to provide this service. By using promo code ELMO, 20% of your registration fee goes towards OPT “K is for Kids.”
