The only United States President from Missouri. An ordained minister who served as a United States Senator and Ambassador. And, a dentist, Civil Rights activist and publisher of the nation’s leading African-American newspaper. Those are the three inaugural inductees into the Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame, which will be housed at Missouri State University.
On Friday, April 11, we expect 250-300 people to gather to honor President Harry S. Truman (represented by his grandson, Clifton Truman Daniel), John C. “Jack” Danforth, and Dr. Donald M. Suggs at a reception, dinner and induction into the Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame is the latest addition to demonstrating the meaning and importance of the University’s statewide mission in public affairs since it was signed into law in 1995.
Missouri State University has distinguished itself in many ways, from its campus atmosphere and caring faculty, to its facilities and athletics, to the IDEA Commons and the China campus. But none has had the long-term impact the mission in public affairs has had in the community, throughout the state, and even nationally. We take another major step with the Missouri Public Affairs Hall of Fame. Visit the website at http://PublicAffairs.missouristate.edu/HallOfFame
