The Missouri State University Foundation ended Fiscal Year 2014, which ended June 30, in a big way. The $18,377,965 raised during FY14 topped last’s year’s total of $16,657,304 and is second only to the $20,311,218 raised in 2012.
The gifts will help to fund programs, scholarships, equipment and other needs across campus.
“We are very gratified for the continued support of our alumni and friends,” said Missouri State President Clifton M. Smart III. “The numbers are impressive, but the significance lies in what the numbers allow us to provide: support for our students, faculty, programs and facilities.”
During FY 14, the Missouri State University Foundation received 40,197 gifts from 21,141 donors. Additionally, more than $1.4 million in deferred gift commitments were received.
The outright gifts are already being utilized on campus. The deferred gifts will come to the university at a later date through bequests, trusts, annuities, life insurance and other instruments.
The Missouri State University Foundation was established in 1981 as the fund-raising arm of the university. Since then, the Foundation has received $228,818,049. From 2008-12, the Foundation set a record for gifts for five consecutive years.
“We honor our alumni and friends who made gifts this past fiscal year,” said Brent Dunn, executive director of the Missouri State University Foundation. “They are the stars that invested in our school and are making positive impacts on our students, faculty, staff and our physical campus.”
