We removed the straw from the top of the bagged raspberries in mid-March. Today, Jeremy and Shelia fertilized each raspberry bag with 1 tablespoon of Osmocote 14-14-14. We recorded two raspberry bags of Crimson Giant did not have shoots or grow last year. Besides these two, it looks as though all of the raspberries have overwintered well into their sixth season. Red Pontiac potatoes and yellow onions were planted in the high tunnel by our field crew on February 20th. These crops are purchased by us for use in our annual fish fries and other events. We also have some ginger and turmeric growing on a heat mat in the greenhouse and we will transfer this to the high tunnel just to have a store of the cultivars available.
