- ANT 380 Language and Culture is a variable content course
- ANT 381 Language, Thought, and Culture
- ANT 382 Writing, Literacy, and Orality (How do literate and non-literate peoples differ?)
- ANT 381 and 382 will largely replace 380.
- ANT 330 (Variable content) Peoples and Cultures of Brazil this spring, TR 330-445.
- ANT 397 (Special Topics) Culture Change – theories as to how and why cultures change, TR 1100-1215.
Both courses are being taught by Dr Darrell Lynch, a new lecturer. Darrell spent a year and a half living in a favela and writing his dissertation on spiritual healing practices. He is fluent in Portuguese (and married to a woman from Brazil).
