New Classification and Activity Code Selections Available on PAF
Section II “Classification”, there is a new Non-employee section, the selections are either Adjunct Faculty or University Associate.
- Adjunct Faculty are defined in the Faculty Handbook. Section 3.5.7. Adjunct Faculty states: “Adjunct Faculty are those individuals who offer educational experiences to students of the University but who have no contract with the University. The title is honorary, although the Adjunct Faculty member may receive an honorarium. Adjunct faculty may also receive a University ID, e-mail account, and library privileges”. Adjunct Faculty are not employees of the University.
- University Associates are not employees of the University and have some relationship to a sponsoring department but do not fit the definition of Adjunct Faculty. University Associates may also receive a University ID, e-mail account, and library privileges.
- New Adjunct Faculty and University Associates will be approved by the normal PAF approval process and will undergo a background check.
Section VII “Salary Information”, Activity Code added to FOAP
- Certain grants are set up with Activity codes as part of the FOAP used to fund salaries of employees whose positions are paid by the grant. Please ignore the Activity field when entering the FOAP if the FOAP does not include an Activity code.
