Today, we continued to work on our different project at the house we worked on yesterday. Everyone was excited to get back and continue to make progress. It was awesome to see everyone’s excitement to continue their projects. By the end of the day we had a lot to be proud of. We will be working on a new house tomorrow so that will be exciting to begin a new experience. It is still so crazy to me how much work goes into building a home from the ground up. It truly takes a team effort to accomplish this task.
From these past two days I have learned the importance of working together as a team. With several different projects to work on, we had to divide and conquer. In our reflection tonight we gave encouragement to others and talked about the strengths we see in ourselves. I always enjoy reflection because it allows me to think about how the day went as a whole. Receiving positive feedback from other group members has helped me to be more confident and to recognize my strengths. It is also a great feeling to let others know the strengths you see in them.
New Orleans is such a neat city with a vibrant culture. It has been great to learn about the history of this city because I was not really familiar with it before. I have become more interested in learning about this city and the social issues that are present. It has been fun to experience this city and I am really looking forward to the rest of the week. I am truly thankful I am able to serve in this city.
