Today was an emotional day in Dallas. We had our last day at Wesley Rankin and said heartfelt goodbyes to our kids.
Throughout the week we really worked with the kids on identity. We did about me sheets, self portraits and shape poems using their hands. Today we were able to bind the children’s work and pair it with a superlative that we made for them.
Something that I noticed about the kids and community this week is how strong they are.
The sign above is a sign we saw in multiple yards today while in the community. It is in reference to the fact that hundreds of homes in the area are going to have to be evacuated at the end of June due to the owner of the homes not keeping them up to code. The community is strong and powerful and will survive, regardless of what happens!!
This experience has been so amazing. I hope the kids learned something from me because they have taught me so much!!
