WSBRadio, 2 Jan 2013:
Security experts are warning of more cyber attacks to come in the new year. If you’ve got an Android device, you might be at most risk. The security firm Life Lock identified more than 35,000 malicious Android programs last year. That is six time the amount of programs they found in 2011. Experts say this could be the big year as more people by smartphones. There will be more ransom malware that will hold your information until you shell over hundreds of dollars to get your data back. But it’s not just phones either. “Malicious cyber activity has been directed at every sector of our infrastructure and economy,” said Deputy Secretary of Defense William Lynn after government computers was hacked last year. “There are a lot of people out there taking a lot of information,” said Lynn. “Right now the attackers are ahead of the defenders.” The best way you can defend yourself is to make sure your anti-virus software is up to date.
