Shrewd executives around the world are saving hundreds, even thousands, of dollars by forgoing encryption on mobile computers. Take the Hospital De Monterey Park for example; they saved hundreds of dollars by not encrypting their laptops. Never mind that the laptops are now stolen and 729,000 patient records are compromised, the forthcoming multimillion dollar lawsuits can be dealt with by the business unit’s new manager.
