Missouri State has a new Diversity Studies minor. This is a notice that the Faculty Senate approved the diversity minor at the May meeting and we want to make sure that all faculty and advisors are aware of this option for our students. The minor in Diversity Studies takes a more holistic approach, seeking to provide a broad picture of the range of diversity in society.
Objectives include:
- Introducing students to the main forms of diversity in society today; namely race and ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality, religion, language, aging, and disability
- Understanding how diversity affects society
- Allows students the opportunity to engage personally through Study Away or service-learning experiences
- Aims to prepare students to participate effectively in a diverse world
For more information on this new and exciting option for our students, please call Dr. Pam Sailors, Associate Dean CHPA at 836-5529 or refer to the catalog.
