Attention: Benefit-Eligble Employees
Participate in Open Enrollment
Online enrollment for your 2016 benefits choices opened October 13 and will end November 20th. Please review your benefit options on the benefits platform. You will also be able to make changes to your benefits choices. Even if you do not intend to make changes, it is highly recommended that you verify your current information. This ensures that your information is accurate and up-to-date for the upcoming year. Two new offerings are being added to your voluntary benefits package this year:
- Group Universal Life (GUL) has riders for help with long term care and income help for terminal illness
- Short Term Disability can provide income help for short terms up to eligibility for long term disability coverage.
Please visit the Open Enrollment Page for additional information and instructions on how to enroll in these new benefit offerings and confirm your current benefits.
NOTE: CIGNA requires that we have a 20% enrollment for the short term disability insurance from eligible employees or they will withdraw the offer.
Take Your Health Risk Assessment
Benefit eligible employees can save up to $360 for medical insurance premiums. While health insurance premiums remain the same for the 2016 calendar year, in order to save up to $360 you must complete your Health Risk Assessment (HRA) no later than November 30th. This not only saves you money but also helps you know how to live a healthier life. Visit the Wellness website for details.
Enroll in the Cafeteria Plan
This has nothing to do with food! The cafeteria plan is a way for you to set aside tax free funds for qualified expenses that you anticipate making in the coming year. You can enroll in the cafeteria plan now and up to December 1. Even if you participated this year, you need to re-enroll if you wish to continue next year. This benefit is sponsored by the State of Missouri. Please visit the Cafeteria Plan website for details, or go directly to the MOCafe website to enroll.
Please take these opportunities to structure your benefits to be most beneficial to you and to save on your health insurance premiums! It all depends on YOU!
Please contact the Office of Human Resources at 6-6616 or by email at HumanResources@Missouristate.edu if you have any questions.
