We reviewed 79 accredited colleges and universities listed by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES College Navigator) that offered online bachelor’s degrees in hospitality management, tourism management, or business administration with a concentration or studies that cover hospitality management. From our list of schools, we looked at the rankings received from major publications like U.S. News and World Report. We then chose regionally and nationally ranked institutions. We listed our schools in order of affordability.
Below are the resulting selections for our 30 best affordable online bachelor’s in hospitality management degrees for 2017-2018.
Missouri State University offers one of the most affordable hospitality and tourism degrees online on our list. This ACPHA-accredited degree program is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in hotels, restaurants, resorts, and other hospitality venues. Classes are delivered online and taught by industry professionals. Some of the courses include analyzing financial performance in hospitality operations, introduction to hospitality leadership, introduction to lodging management, principles of food preparation, and safety and sanitization. Missouri State is ranked by major publications like U.S. News and World Report as the 71st best regional university in the Midwest and 16th top public school. Also, the online bachelor’s programs are ranked #76 out of more than 1,200 programs surveyed by U.S. News.
