Participants from our partner university, Southwest University in China have completed their four-week Summer Program on Media, Communications and Culture. The customized program was designed by International Leadership and Training Center (ILTC) for Southwest students to help them develop practical communication skills, gain cross-cultural experience, and learn about the media business in the United States.
14 undergraduate students, one graduate student and the Associate Dean of School of Journalism and Communication had the opportunity to take content based English courses, attend a series of training workshops, observe classes on campus, and take part in site visits and cultural activities. The program completion ceremony was held on Aug. 16, 2017. The Associate Dean, Hongyu Qin received recognition from President Clif Smart and 15 students received official certificates from Dr. Jim Baker. The Office of China Programs also attended the ceremony and witnessed students’ accomplishments.
