The James W. Dykes Award for Courage and Determination was established to recognize a College of Business student at Missouri State University who demonstrates unusual courage and determination to fulfill his/her academic goals. James W. Dykes completed his Entertainment Management degree in the Spring of 2005 while battling a degenerative disease that would eventually take him from his earthly home in late January of 2006.
