Veterans United is seeking Diversity Advocates to be a campus and community representative to inform students and candidates about opportunities at VU. This position will be at its own pace and there are monetary bonuses associated with successful hires brought in to VU. The position pays $12/hr.
Diversity Advocates will serve as a liaison between colleges/community organizations and People Services. This position will not be originating loans.
Responsibilities:
- Source candidates for intern and full-time opportunities, and develop and manage a diversity pipeline for VU.
- Attend events and represent VU in line with our three values – Be passionate, and have fun; Deliver results with integrity; and Enhance lives every day.
- Conduct initial screening interviews for ideal candidate placement.
- Establish and cultivate positive relationships with campus and community organizations.
Necessary skills:
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal).
- Effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Adaptable to change and shifts in priority.
- Skilled in maintaining confidentiality.
Job requirements:
- Schedule flexibility, including seasonal workflow, evenings and weekend events.
- Proficient in basic computer technologies, appropriate for an internet-based company.
