Each year the American college of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) offers up to a combined total of 20 Albert W. Dent and Foster G. McGaw Student Scholarships to students in the final year of a full-time healthcare management graduate Program
The Albert W. Dent Graduate Student Scholarship is designated for minority students enrolled in their final year of a healthcare management graduate program to help offset tuition costs, student loans and expenses. The Foster G. McGaw Graduate Student Scholarship is designated for students enrolled in their final year of a healthcare management graduate program to help offset tuition costs, student loans and expenses

The American College of Medical Practice Executives recently announced that Christine Tibbs has been awarded the prestigious Andrea M. Rossiter Scholarship for 2014. The ACMPE scholarships are created for the purpose of supporting and promoting healthcare leaders’ personal and professional growth as a medical practice executive. The scholarship supports individuals who have demonstrated potential for contributing to the medical practice profession. Christine is a student in the Missouri State University Master of Health Administration program and is currently employed by CoxHealth in Springfield. Congratulations Christine!

The American College of Healthcare Executives Diversity Internship was established to attract diverse students into the fields of healthcare and professional society management, and to further their postgraduate education. The three-month summer internship provides a chance for the intern to rotate through all major ACHE divisions and will be developed according to his or her special interests. Applications will be accepted beginning Oct. 1, 2014, and must be postmarked no later than Dec. 1, 2014.
The Stuart A. Wesbury Jr. Postgraduate Fellowship was established to further postgraduate education in healthcare and professional society management. The one-year fellowship program will provide an opportunity for students to work in all major ACHE divisions. The fellowship program’s content will be developed around the fellow’s special interests, as well as in response to organizational needs. Attendance at ACHE seminars and conferences and key association meetings is part of the fellowship.
Applications will be accepted by the ACHE beginning Oct. 1, 2014, and must be postmarked no later than Dec. 1, 2014.

The Missouri Health Executives Group (MOHEG) Board of Directors is inviting future healthcare leaders to contribute to the literature of the field of healthcare management through its MOHEG Student Essay Award (M-SEA) competition. Any student currently enrolled in one of Missouri’s ACHE Higher Education Network (HEN) programs (including Missouri State University) eligible to compete for this award.
The main purpose of the M-SEA is to challenge students to develop thoughts about the system of health care delivery in the United States. The author of the chosen essay will receive $1,000.00 and be a guest of honor at the ACHE breakfast during the Missouri Hospital Association’s Annual Convention and Trade Show at Tan-Tar-A in the Lake of the Ozarks on Thursday November 6, 2014.
The essay is to be an original composition on a topic to be chosen by the entrant. The essay should be of length between 800-1,100 words in Microsoft Word using a Times New Roman 12 font and 1 inch borders. Pages should be numbered. Footnotes may be provided in an appendix. Essays must be the work of one individual. Upon examination, any essay containing plagiarized material will be disqualified.
The centered heading should give the following information:
1. MOHEG Student Essay Award
2. Title of the essay
3. HEN Program in which student is enrolled and expected graduation date
4. Student name including prefixes and suffixes
5. Student contact information
6. Date of the essay composition

The Association of University Programs in Health Administration has announced the renewal of the David A. Winston Health Policy Scholarship. This year ten $10,000 scholarships will be made available to first-year Master’s degree students studying healthcare management and/or policy at AUPHA graduate member programs.
The Scholarship will recognize student excellence and achievement based upon the student’s record and recommendations from faculty and colleagues. The 10 scholarships will be offered to students who demonstrate their potential to succeed in health policy at the state or national level upon graduation from their master’s in healthcare management degree program.
