The nursing department received approval from the Higher Learning Commission to offer the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program. The all online degree program will replace the nurse practitioner specialization option currently offered by the department.
The DNP program will have two degree options, one for students who have a baccalaureate degree and one for students who already have a master’s degree in a nursing related field. The post-master’s degree option will begin summer 2012 and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing to DNP will begin summer of 2013.
The DNP degree program is accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the professional organization of schools of baccalaureate and higher degree programs in nursing.
