Kristin Jackson is currently a director at a public affairs firm in Washington, DC, the DCI Group. After speaking at Missouri State University’s 2013 Public Affairs Academy (pictured above), Kristin combined her education and experience in international democracy promotion and domestic legislative experience in the U.S. Congress to join a top DC public Affairs firm. At DCI group, she helps run grassroots and public policy campaigns on behalf of a variety of clients. Kristin is working mainly in energy policy but helps out when Latin America and Congressional issues arise.
Kristin previously held the post of majority staff director of the Western Hemisphere Subcommittee for the U.S. Congress, House Foreign Affairs Committee, where she specialized in government administration. Prior to her work on the committee, she was the assistant program officer for the International Republican Institute (IRI). At IRI, she was responsible for programs in Venezuela, Colombia and Bolivia where she developed and executed proposals aimed at improving good governance, consulting on political party organization and platform.
Her past experience also includes working as an associate with the Washington, D.C.-based political consulting firm Scribe Strategies and Advisors, and with Congressman Dan Burton’s congressional office, where she covered a related legislative portfolio including energy, trade and international relations. And she spent six months in Madrid, Spain, studying the language and working with a political consulting firm – MAS Consulting.
Kristin is an active Missouri State Alumni and shared her personal and professional experiences at the 2013 Public Affairs Conference (Pictured with former Vice President for Student Affairs, Don Aripoli and Marilyn Chana).
Kristin graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science – minoring in Spanish and Psychology – from Missouri State University and earned a Master of Arts in International Law and Government from Georgetown University. The skills and experience she gained at Missouri State University laid the groundwork for a strong professional career.
