Please join the Thomas Strong Chair in Middle Eastern Studies, the Political Science department, and the Global Studies program as we welcome Dr. Michael Gunter for a public lecture on the current situation in the Middle East. “How to Defeat ISIS via the Kurdish Road” will be presented on October 17th, from 5:00 until 7:00, in the Meyer Library Auditorium (room 101) on the Springfield campus of Missouri State University.
Dr. Gunter is a professor of political science at Tennessee Technological University. He is the author of 11 critically praised scholarly books on the Kurdish question and co-editor (with Mohammed M. A. Ahmed) of three more books on the Kurds, among others. His most recent book is Out of Nowhere: The Kurds of Syria in Peace and War. He has also published and worked extensively on issues related to terrorism, foreign policy, Turkey, Iraq and Syria.
