After graduating from the MGS program, I started by teaching Spanish at the University of Missouri Kansas City, then worked my way over to the Applied Language Institute where I started as an International Student Liaison and now work as the International Student advisor. I work with 100-200 students a semester from over 25 different countries, and absolutely love getting up every morning to go to work. It’s always something different.
My background studying multiple world regions in the MGS program gave me essential knowledge for effectively interacting with these students every day. The languages that I speak and deeper understanding of world relations I gained, has very quickly propelled me up to the position I am in now and is preparing me for my future goal of recruiting international students for the university.
