Governor Jay Nixon today appointed the Honorable Margaret Holden as Associate Judge of the 31st Judicial Circuit. Judge Holden will be the first woman to serve in that role in Greene County. “Today Judge Nixon made history, appointing Judge Margaret Holden, delivering on the promise that the Missouri Plan, touted to increase diversity on the bench, is fulfilling that promise in our community,” said Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association Executive Director, Crista Hogan.
Prior to her service as Chief Administrative Law Judge, Margaret was an Associate Attorney with Schroff, Glass & Newberry and an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Greene County. Judge Holden was a 1984 graduate of (Southwest) Missouri State University, majoring in Political Science and History. She earned her law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1988.
