The brief survey will be available beginning Friday (tomorrow) at 10 a.m. Faculty should check their email, or the Faculty Senate home page for the link to the poll.

The University Compensation Committee is meeting at 11 a.m. on Monday, and we would like to have some faculty feedback to share with the committee at that time. The survey will only take a moment to complete. Please do take the time to make your voice heard.

onlineclassroomDate: October 21
Time: 12–1:30 p.m.
Location: Glass Hall Room 230

Featured Higher Education Presenters:

William Beasley, Ed.D., Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at Cleveland State University. His publications and conference presentations focus on issues related to distance education, both in web-based and interactive video distance learning formats.

Brian E. Harper, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Foundations at Cleveland State University. His current work focuses on African American students and the factors that promote or inhibit academic self-regulation.

This online seminar presents insights and methods to enable you to help students improve their writing, to encourage them to take ownership of their development as writers, and build teacher-student rapport to help support and enrich learning.

By joining us for this seminar, you’ll learn about the results of preliminary research comparing written and audio feedback regarding students’ perceptions of the learning climate they experienced.  What’s more, you’ll be able to follow along in providing technology-mediated feedback on an actual student writing project to learn how the three phases of feedback—preparation, creation, and reflection—encourage students to improve their communication skills.

Due to financial constraints, we will not be able to order refreshments, so please feel free to bring your own lunch and a bottled drink to enjoy during the seminar.

Registration link can be found on the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning website.
