Travelers to far-away places are delighted to encounter flowers, butterflies, and birds that they have never seen before. This “biogeography” of life forms is a rich tapestry woven over millions of years. However, natural communities are threatened by highly mobile humankind moving animals and plants around the globe. We risk creating a world of weeds, in which aggressive expatriates disrupt natural ecosystems and erase native biodiversity. Dr. Barnhart will discuss the problem of invasive species, the animals and plants that are taking over where we leave off.

Fraternity/Sorority Events and Class Attendance
A number of questions have come up regarding fraternity and sorority events in relation to class attendance. Fraternity and sorority members should be participating and attending classes as dictated by their course syllabi. The only events which are considered to be a university-related are participation in conventions, conferences, or regional workshops. Traditionally, you will see some documentation regarding these types of events from either myself or their chapter president.
As Greek Week will be taking place during the week of March 4th–10th, 2012, the expectation is fraternity and sorority members will be attending their classes.
If you have additional questions or have specific questions, contact Andrea Weber at andreaweber@missouristate.edu or ext. 64386.
