The Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) is a vital component of the most important student survey in higher education: the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). It is designed to measure faculty expectations of student engagement in educational practices that are known to be empirically linked with high levels of learning and development.
At Missouri State University, a number of teaching faculty members are being invited to complete the survey. An invitation message is being emailed by Provost Frank Einhellig to each potential participant. Faculty should search their Bearmail account for the keyword “FSSE” on or after April 13. If you are included in the survey sample, you will have received an email invitation from Provost Frank Einhellig containing a link to complete the survey online. Please also check your spam folder, just in case it has been filtered out of your inbox. The survey administration period begins April 13, with the final invitation to participate going out April 30.
Including the faculty perspective in this major survey of student engagement is important. The goal is to provide a catalyst for discussions related to undergraduates’ experience. The online survey takes about 15 minutes to complete. Completion of the survey is entirely voluntary and your responses will remain anonymous. Please check out the FSSE page on the Office of Assessment website for more information. View the FSSE questionnaire.
