We just recently launched the Darr School of Agriculture new website. Check out the features of the site and who worked on it in the blog posted by Sara Clark, director of Web and New Media below.

********************************************************************************************

Darr School of Agriculture website exhibits over 15 academic programs

Posted on February 13, 2012 by Sara Clark

The Darr School of Agriculture website was redesigned as part of the Academic Website Project, which strives to enhance academic websites for use in recruitment efforts.

Key features of the newly designed website include the following:

Details each program’s requirements and career options
The School of Agriculture offers many academic programs, so detailing specific requirements and career options allows students to select the program that best meets their needs.

Outlines school structure
To help students and others understand the new structure of the School, the website outlines the units, programs and contacts.

Coordinates with the Mountain Grove campus
The website coordinates with the color and content of the Mountain Grove campus, which reinforces the relationship between the two areas.

Site credits

Several university relations offices assisted in developing this site:

Staff lead: Nicki Donnelson, university communications public relations specialist

Content development: Jessica Clements, university communications new media specialist

Design: Veronica Adinegara, publications senior graphic designer

Website implementation: Kyle Falconer, Tasha Jacobson, Brad Fortenberry and Grant Holle, web and new media student workers, with oversight by Sara Clark, director of web and new media

This is a name badge for event staff at JQH Arena. Because the event staff (mostly students) change every semester, they find that it is not worth creating expensive permanent badge for everybody that will be thrown out after a few months. The Arena office also would like to identify each badge with the season, that way, badge will expire as a particular basketball season ends. To solve that problem, they bought a laminator machine, and they asked our office to create a small tag. We turned the “First Name,” Last Name,” and the “title” areas in the PDF to be fillable, like a form. That way, the office can personalize each one and laminate it themselves as needed. Aimee Pong, our student designer, designed the badge.

The Missouri Innovation Academy is a three-week residential academy held on the campus of Missouri State University. They came to our office for our help to design a brochure with a tear-off application form. Aimee Pong, our student designer, did a very nice job putting together all the materials and creating the application form from scratch; however, you won’t be able to see the part of the application that folds out and tears off in the interactive PDF provided here. The engaging layout and colors are sure to engage young students who are interested in science, technology, engineering, math and business.

Taylor Health and Wellness Center redesigned their printed materials a couple of years ago. The website redesign follows the look and feel that Teri Poindexter, Publications graphic designer, had developed. Publications Office team up with Web and Media and University Communications to revamp the website. Below is a blog from the Office of Web and New Media about the website.

———————————————————————————————————————

The Taylor Health and Wellness website was redesigned to make it more friendly and usable to health center clients.

Key features of the newly designed website include the following:

Offers separate sections for students and employees
Since different services are available to different clients, the website organizes the information onto audience-specific pages.

Outlines all medical services
Clients can now easily find and review all the services offered by Taylor, which helps them determine if they can save time and money.

Provides updates through a blog
The homepage offers timely updates for clients through a blog feed. This method also allows for clients to subscribe to updates or for other websites to display the posts.

Site credits

Several university relations offices assisted in developing this site:

Staff lead: Andrea Mostyn, university communications assistant director

Content development: Brooke Lairmore, university communications graduate assistant

Design: Veronica Adinegara, publications senior graphic designer

Website implementation: Brys Broughton and David Howell, web and new media student workers, with oversight by Sara Clark, director of web and new media

There are so many reasons for them to come here and we are trying to let them know with this directed postcard. We hope they follow their passion and find their place here at MSU!
