Today is the first day of our summer session! We have our summer session students living in Sunvilla Tower and Kentwood Hall.
The summer session is completely different than any other semester we offer here at Missouri State. Why?
1). There are several terms during the summer. You can go for a 8-week session, a 4-week session or a 5-week session. This offers a great variety of schedules. In the 4- and 5-weeks sessions, you are in class for a longer period of time than you would a regular 16-week semester. This can be good and bad!
2). Less people. I haven’t heard the numbers for the summer session yet, but usually there will be only 5,000 or so students on-campus during the summer. This is much smaller than normal and it makes the “feel” of campus different.
3). Camps and Conferences are here! You may have stayed on-campus when you were younger attending a basketball or volleyball or computer camp here on campus. Well they are in full swing here already! We are expecting over 31,000 people staying with us this summer for a camp or conference! This makes things look different on-campus as we don’t usually have a lot of young kids on-campus.
There’s still plenty of time if you want to join us this summer! It’s a good time to get acclaimated to the campus!

Summer session is really fun because you have the chance to learn new information again. Aside from that, you will meet new and old friends. Anyway, nice to know that your starting summer class. I hope your having a good time learning, Lenard. I hope to visit again. Thanks!
This post has me WISHING for summer to hurry up and come around again. I don’t know if it’s just me or what, but this winter so far has been BRUTAL. =S
Yes, I do remember summer semesters back at the University. You have more space and time, if you know what I mean! It should be also nice at Missouri State. Thanks for information.
summer session is really fun…..
I was at the University at that summer session. It is a pleasure to be reminded about the days. It is so right – less people, but still enough to get enough of fun and information, interesting event doing on! Was a pleasure to read about it. Thanks.
I cant wait for the conferences to start, I finally have free-time this summer and really interested in what is being offered at Missouri State.
Sitting here in the middle of winter makes me long for summer after reading that.
Hi! I was a student at Kentwood Hall and I am proud about it. I’ve spent most of the summers there (left to travel in the States couple of times). All is right – the weather was splendid (comparing to England even terrific!), and having less people I still got a lot of people around me, and of course there were several interesting conferences to attend. Good memories! Thanks for the post.

Thanks for sharing the information. Remindend me about my last summer session. I completely agree with the whole less crowded campus feeling. It is in fact different in many ways and i enjoyed these times far more then the rest of a season.
Well, looking back at the summer of 2009, I can tell that it was a pretty hot one!
I don’t know but summer in whatever year seems to be always the best part of the year in college. Summer 2010 hopefully will come early.
I always took summer classes. Less students, the classes flew by and you got to know your profs better.
I love Spring as it means summer is just around the corner.
Man. This is always the toughness part of the year.
Well that was summer last year I guess. But it’s actually Spring here in the USA and love every bit of it!
Everyone loves summer particularly great for us students, nothing to do but enjoy ourselves.
Summer is a great time on campus. More relaxed, nicer people and a time to take classes that are more condensed. I love it.
I do recall fond memories of my 3 years at Missouri State and of course the summers. Time to get away from the pressure of studies and projects. Now i just about ready to go back for graduate school … and more summer breaks.
Really looking forward to summer. The winter here in Spain has been brutally cold with over a metre of snow in my garden.
Oh the good old summer camps. Wish i could turn back time!
Nice one buddy. Don’t we all love summer time?
I am taking classes again this summer session. Such a laid back feel to summer classes, def more my style.
One thing I like about summer school is that it’s very laid back. And there aren’t as many people there during the summer either.
Sitting here in the middle of winter makes me long for summer time to come fast.
ah camps sure brings back memories
ahh yes…the college life and summer get togethers! They are all fun. Camps I think are the best.

It seems an awful long time since Summer Semesters
Hope you have the same good summer this year too!
Nice to see the Kentwood Hall. It is suitable for the student to live in Sunvilla Tower and Kentwood Hall at summer.

Just signed my two children up for Summer camp. They can’t wait to go and programs at the local college at great for athletics.
I am taking two classes this summer. Nice and relaxed compared to the regular year and a good chance to catch up on credits.
Summer is really a good way of taking a break. Even if students go to school, schedule is not as hectic as regular classes so they don’t feel the pressure. Besides, there are many enjoyable and exciting activities that can be done during this season.
Aside from that, you will meet new and old friends. Anyway, nice to know that your starting summer class. I hope your having a good time learning, Lenard. I hope to visit again. Thanks!
I miss Missouri! Missouri State is a beautiful place to gain an education as well as spend the summer! (the diversity is great too!)
Missouri state sounds awesome. I had a friend that went there and she thoroughly enjoyed the school. When I go back, this will be one school i consider.
I love summers on campus…..summers off campus are even better but what can you do
This is a very old post. We are preparing ourselves to welcome the summer of 2011!
An attention-grabbing dialogue is worth comment. I believe that you should write more on this topic, it won’t be a taboo subject but generally individuals are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
One other issue is when you are in a circumstances where you would not have a co-signer then you may really want to try to exhaust all of your school funding options. You can find many funds and other scholarships that will supply you with funding to support with education expenses. Thanks alot : ) for the post.
some genuinely superb posts on this site, regards for contribution.
I simply added your web page to my favorites. I like reading your blog
