Mail Forwarding and Change of Address

All residence halls will close at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Mail service to all residence halls will be stopped and all mail will be forwarded to your permanent address.

Update your permanent address by submitting this completed form to the Office of the Registrar:  http://www.missouristate.edu/registrar/38490.htm . All address changes must be made no later than May 19, or mail will not be forwarded properly and will be returned to sender. Remember to contact businesses and others from whom you receive mail and inform them of your new forwarding address. This will ensure that you receive your mail in a timely manner.

Summer School Housing

If you are taking a class this summer and would like to live on campus, don’t forget to complete your Summer School Housing Contract.  You may do so by going to your MyMissouriState account > Profile Tab > Housing Channel > Under “Summer Application Steps” click “Complete Application.”  Summer school housing will be offered in Hammons House.

Checking Out

Once your finals are over, you will need to complete a proper check-out from your residence hall. We want your check-out experience to go as smoothly as possible to avoid unnecessary charges and delays. With this in mind, we ask you to leave your room/suite/apartment reasonably clean, free of damage, and in proper order. You must make an appointment with your RA to check out.  Students who do not check out properly could be charged an Improper Check-Out Fee of $75.00.

Contract Cancellation

If you have submitted a 2017-18 Student Housing Contract but would like to cancel it, and you are not required to live on campus for the 2017-18 academic year, you will need to submit a cancellation request at http://reslife.missouristate.edu/cancelcontract.htm . Cancellation requests must be received before the Student Housing Contract goes into effect for the fall semester.  At that time, the contract becomes active and binding regardless of a lack of requirement to live on campus.

Donation Stations

Donation Stations will be placed in the lobby of each residence hall.  Students may donate any items they do not wish to take with them.  This includes, furniture, bedding, lamps, clothing, non-perishable, unopened food items, and even half-empty shampoo and soap bottles.  These items will be donated to The Kitchen which serves Springfield residents in need.
