Trial Schedule Tool Available In Time for Spring Semester

April 27, 2011 by Kinsley Stocum

After research on potential scheduling tools was undertaken by the Student Government Association’s Academic Affairs committee last semester, a team of representatives was formed to address the identified need to replace the former trial schedule tool lost during the Banner ERP implementation, the recovery of which will significantly help students with course planning.

The team extensively researched and considered all options and decided to recommend College Scheduler, LLC for purchase.  College Scheduler, LLC has many helpful capabilities, such as the ability to generate schedules by evaluating all combinations of class offerings and the ability to enter breaks and filter schedules based on times the student wants to schedule around.  The President offered to use his Reserve Budget to cover implementation costs and recurring services fees associated with the product for both the Springfield and West Plains campuses.

The new trial schedule tool will be implemented for spring registration in the fall semester.

Habitat for Humanity – Student Organization Spotlight

April 11, 2011 by Abigail Jasinski

Habitat for Humanity (H4H) is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry which seeks to eliminate poverty, housing, and homelessness worldwide.  Here in Springfield there is a great need for affordable housing. Some experts estimate it will take 4,000 homes to eliminate poverty in our area. We need your help. Please consider extending a hand to those in need by working with Missouri State University chapter of Habitat.

We are currently fundraising to build a home for a local, single mother in need, and we need your help! Anyone can donate and no donation is too small for our cause. We need to raise $50,000 before constructions can begin on this home.

To make a donation you may go to:

https://bos.etapestry.com/fundraiser/HabitatforHumanityMOSpringupl/MSUBuild/

Or you may contact hendrix007@live.missouristate.edu to get more information on how to get involved. Meeting are every other Tuesday at The House By Taco Bell. We would love for you to come.
