The Student Government Association maintained strong numbers during the fall semester of the 2009-2010 Senate Session, including 114 senators representing 53 organizations and class seats. During the fall semester, Senators addressed issues such as plus/minus grading, campus signage, and net neutrality. The Senate also passed resolutions which will commission a few projects such as the publication of a school yearbook, display of student artwork in dining centers, and create a public affairs distinction for students.
“Our Senators feel better trained and more comfortable which has encouraged them to play a more active role in SGA,” Kristen Sanocki, Vice President of the Student Body, explained, “We are excited for the upcoming semester and hope to bring many projects into fruition.”
As the spring semester began, over ninety Senators were registered as returning which provided for strong committees. During the upcoming semester, Senators will work on projects ranging from the iGrade system, the 2010 Census, and a textbook rental program. Below are the committee numbers as of January 12th.
