Recently, Dr. Rob Hornberger hired Kevin Stevens as the new Assistant Register for Veteran Student Services. Mr. Kevin J. Stevens comes to MSU by way of Queens, New York, New York, where he served as Director of Military and Veterans Services and Student Conduct Officer at Queensborough Community College. At Queensborough he created the Office of Military and Veterans Services, and recreated the Veterans Center. Mr. Stevens has eight years of combined active and Air National Guard experience as a Veteran of the United States Air Force. His background includes working at a variety of campuses to include Big Ten, Ivy, and Mid American conference schools. He has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Veterans Program Administrators (NAVPA), to include other Veterans related sub-committees in the City University System of New York (CUNY). He has presented on the topic of creating military friendly campuses, and continues to be a strong national advocate for veterans, military members and their families. Mr. Stevens earned his Masters degree in Educational Leadership-Higher Education at Eastern Michigan University, Bachelors degree from Bowling Green State University, and Associates from the Community College of the Air Force.
A native Clevelander, Mr. Stevens, enjoys playing ice hockey, and is looking forward to continuing his studies in pursuit of his doctoral degree. Welcome to Missouri State, Kevin!
