And the winner is! Recently, a group of students from the Student Affairs in Higher Education Master’s program here at Missouri State University attended the Annual MoCPA Fall Conference. The conference occurred between September 28-30th 2014 and was held at the Tan-Tar Family Resort. The conference, themed Ignite Leadership; Inspire Action, offered numerous networking and professional development opportunities for attendees. One of these such opportunities included a case study competition. This competition, occurring over a two-day period, fostered a competitive, yet friendly, spirit in participants. Specifically, participants, who competed in pairs, were asked to apply student development theories to a particular case study. Pairs were judged base upon their clarity, explanation of the problem, effective application of the theory, and professionalism. While many pairs from across Missouri competed, one of Missouri State’s very own placed. Kelly James, Graduate Assistant within the Office of Admissions, and Emma Rapp, Graduate Assistant to the Dean of Students, placed third in the case study competition this year! Congrats to Kelly and Emma!
