Sexual Assault is a hard topic to discuss…but dialogue must start somewhere.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month occurs throughout the month of April and features numerous events to start and continue discussion and dialogue on sexual assault awareness and bystander intervention. The Dean of Students Office, the Office of Student Conduct, the Sexual Assault Student Workgroup, and various other campus constituents will be hosting these events all month long, so come out and lend support! Wednesday, April 1– Sexual Assault Wellness Table, Taylor Health and Wellness Center 2PM-4PM. Sponsored by Taylor Health and Wellness Center.
Monday, April 6– Tim Moussseau: “Retaking our Story: Reframing the Sexual Assault Conversation”, 6:30PM, PSU Theatre. Sponsored by Taylor Health and Wellness Center and Athletics.
Thursday, April 9– Workshop addressing Sexual Harassment and Assault and Title IX by The Giving Voice Troupe, directed by Dr. C. J. Maples, 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. in PSU Ballroom East. Part of the Criminology and Criminal Justice Conference.
Monday, April 13– Issues relating to the theme: The ethical citizen: Can you make a difference? By The Giving Voice Troupe. 7:30-9:00pm PSU Room 313. Part of the MSU Public Affairs Conference.
Wednesday, April 15– Toshia Shaw: “How to Make a Difference in the Lives of Sex Trafficking Victims”, 7:30 pm, PSU Theater. Sponsored by Student Government Association as part of Public Affairs Conference.
Tuesday, April 21- “The Hunting Ground” Screening and Panel Presentation, 7:00 pm, PSU Theater. Sponsored by Office of Student Conduct and Plaster Student Union.

“He Said, She Said” Event put on by Campus Outreach Services that has a couple of actors and actresses who act out different scenarios and pose questions to the audience members to encourage a discussion. Monday, April 27 and Tuesday, April 28– SHARP: Self Defense and Rape Prevention Training, at the FRC 6:30-9pm: This is a free training. Please register online through the Campus Recreation webpage.
