The Ozarks Amateur Astronomers Club welcomes everyone who wants to learn more about astronomy. Whether you have never looked through a telescope or used one to enjoy the night sky for years, the OAAC offers something to satisfy your astronomical interests. Our monthly meetings include presentations ranging from learning basic skills such as how to use binoculars and telescopes, to hearing about the latest astronomy research projects at Missouri State University. Each month during the school year we schedule nighttime observing sessions outside the Plaster Student Union to view the Moon, planets, and double stars through telescopes and binoculars. Our other monthly outdoor event is held under the dark skies at MSU’s Baker Observatory, where we focus our equipment on star clusters, nebulae, galaxies, and other celestial showpieces. Come to an OAAC meeting and observing session to see why the sky is not the limit but just the beginning of a great journey to discover the wonders of the universe.
