I expect our trip to be a fun, rich learning experience. In Ho Chi Minh City, I imagine lots and lots of people, both on foot and on motorcycles/scooters. I also imagine lots of vendors intensely approaching me, trying to get me to buy lots of unique food and souvenirs. I imagine the Mekong Delta tour being beautiful, full of tall greenery and due to its narrowness at times, maybe having some boat traffic. I see the Po Nagar Temple being a peaceful place full of history and meditation. I imagine the islands being relaxing with tall palms, blue waters, and soft sand. When I think of the tomb visits, like Emperor Minh Mang, I imagine interesting history and intricate architecture. Overall, we are going to see a lot of places, experience new things, and ultimately have a deep learning experience. I think our experience is going to truly be one of a kind. I am really looking forward to it.

When I was in Italy, the vendors in the bigger cities were relentless. They would follow you around and try to give you two scarves for the price of one or this genuine Gucci bag for 20 euros. It was a lot of just saying you only had a few euros or letting the guys that were around telling them to back off (at least for me). A Vietnamese lady I know said not to be afraid to haggle with them when you want to buy something. They tend to up the price a lot because we are not used to how things are normally priced there.
I am super excited for the Mekong Delta though. I love every picture I have seen and I can’t wait to take some of my own.
